A first anniversary on Nanjing West Road is rarely remembered for the champagne tower. JC PLAZA stacks premium offices and a refined luxury mall in one building. After a year, the communications job was to turn that building from a place people pass into a venue Shanghai would cross town for. From 14 July to 27 August 2023 the project ran 38 days under Chillout the Time: a Shanghai-school summer of ease, refinement, and quality. Outdoors belonged to the JC × OTB SUNSET MARKET. Indoors belonged to DAYDREAM LOUNGE. The party was one night. The market and the lounge had to carry July.
JFM MEDIA (Jeffrey Shanghai Digital Technology Co., Ltd.) built the program on a Dual-Pole Venue × Three-Phase Resonance Model. The two poles gave the anniversary addresses people could stay in, photograph, and move between, so every story and note took pictures from those addresses. The three phases split 7–30 July into warm-up, Big Day, and retention, and gave press, Xiaohongshu, and local ads a different job in each phase. Resonance meant authority, circle seeding, and a within-three-kilometres invitation all pointed at the west plaza and the atrium. The mall stayed the lead. Tenant brands appeared inside the market, the installations, and the party. Media invitations and creator recommendations in the plan are a proposed grid; attendance and partnerships follow the confirmed project version.
01
The brief and the dual engine
The mall leads; head-tier voices make the anniversary a topic; local circles deliver the visit
The strategy team wrote the background as three elements. First, the mall leads and the brands support it: Maison Margiela, OTB houses, and atrium installations are the highlights, while the sentence subject stays JC PLAZA, so the anniversary reads as the building’s year. Second, citywide volume has to keep traveling as organic traffic after the party night: the press release is what gets written on the same day, Xiaohongshu is what can still be searched two weeks later. Third, a high-tone commercial ecology starts with the circles who already recognize Shanghai-school taste, fashion, and a refined pace of life, then moves outward. The aim becomes executable: raise the mall’s voice across the network, especially on Xiaohongshu in Shanghai; invite head media and Xiaohongshu KOLs; build an anniversary topic; strengthen the landmark reading; reach local consumers; and turn reputation into footfall.
Under those three elements, the work splits into two engines, both hung on Chillout the Time. Engine one, “head power warms the event and expands volume,” puts lifestyle media, trade media, and head Xiaohongshu KOLs on the 14 July Big Day, then keeps a press release in market so fashion, culture, and retail readers meet the anniversary in the same week. Engine two, “reach the circle and pull people on site,” uses Dianping and WeChat Moments against Shanghai interests and location, and pairs local trade and consumer media so industry readers get the project’s logic and lifestyle readers get a reason to walk to the west plaza.
Both engines share one operating map: background, PR strategy, channels, cadence, and the volume and budget math. Every chapter below unpacks that map. Space supplies a reason to shoot. Cadence decides who speaks on which day. Channels decide whether the line lands in a news story, a note, or a feed inside a few kilometres.
02
Two poles and a closed route
The sunset market gives the summer a reason; the lounge receives the crowd; a token joins the two
Chillout the Time lands as two lines people can keep visiting. From 14 July the outdoor SUNSET MARKET opens: the JC × OTB market, installations, jazz and pop, and the anniversary party on the same day. DAYDREAM LOUNGE runs through the season indoors, with PR performance in the L1 atrium, brand activity in stores and public areas, and escalator dressing from L1 to L4 so the walk upstairs stays inside one visual system. The 38 days become a sequence of staying outside, then being walked in. Ease, refinement, and a Shanghai-school summer occupy the same late afternoon.
The site map freezes that route for every content team. Outdoors means the west plaza, the corridor, and the street planters: market, VIP party, pop and jazz. Indoors means the L1 lounge, brand installations on L2 and L3, and the escalators. The later visit brief follows the same dots — L1 atrium, west plaza, planters, corridor, escalators — so a hundred notes can sound like different people and still photograph the same anniversary.
The sunset market is the pole that makes someone walk over. It runs 14–30 July, 17:00–22:00, with OTB. The idea puts a south-of-France pool and city camping into central Shanghai: a sunset installation, jazz, a newsstand, flowers, dessert, and ice cream, with Maison Margiela’s outdoor presence as a recognizable frame. The mechanic joins this pole to the interior. Any spend in the market converts to a token — the draft rate was about one token per 20 yuan — and the token enters DAYDREAM LOUNGE games in the L1 atrium for a brand gift or coupon. People who pay to stay outside are walked indoors. The summer yard and the lounge become one route between floors.
The VIP party is the night that lights both poles: 14 July, 19:00–22:00, on the outdoor west plaza. The draft guest list mixes media, commercial partners, VIC of JC and the brands, and KOLs. Doors, a look around, and a warm-up DJ at 18:45. A welcome and a champagne toast from 19:00 to 19:18, the party declared open and the market launched. Then performance, photographs, and shopping until close. The night turns a week of teasers into a room of people, and it gives forty outlets and ten head accounts a scene they can shoot and file. The limited sunset-market tag starts that night and becomes the phrase notes and Dianping guides reuse for the next two weeks.
03
Three-phase cadence
Seven days of expectation, one reported night, two weeks of searchable visits
The plan cuts 7–30 July into three phases and changes each channel’s job by phase. Warm-up is 7–13 July. Dianping feed ads, a 15-second WeChat Moments film, and JC PLAZA’s own WeChat, Xiaohongshu, and Dianping accounts speak together. The week’s job is to let “the anniversary is coming” arrive in Shanghai feeds before the party, with the owned accounts holding the theme and the commercial topic first.
Big Day is 14 July. Ten head Xiaohongshu KOLs attend the west-plaza party and post on 14–15 July. From 14–20 July, forty outlets file the news and three Shanghai consumer titles run deeper pieces. Moments ads continue through 21 July on a 20-second recap for people who missed the night. Authority, head notes, and a social replay sit in one week, so the anniversary is simultaneously a story, a check-in, and a film.
Retention runs 15–30 July, the same days the market stays open. Ninety further Xiaohongshu KOLs and KOCs walk the visit route. Dianping fresh posts run through 28 July. One trade feature sits in the retention window, dated 22 July on the content page. Xiaohongshu’s job in this phase is circle penetration and the long tail: the first ten accounts carry the party, the next ninety carry “still worth wandering, still worth shooting, still a reason this weekend.” Together the three phases are a chain from expectation, to coverage, to search.
04
The authority grid
Forty outlets for the same night, three lifestyle angles, one trade reading of the building
The 14 July grid invites forty outlets to the west-plaza party, to see it first and then file. The mix is ten fashion titles, eight culture titles, six news outlets, ten local-life titles, and six retail-property titles — VOGUE, GQ, ELLE, Harper’s Bazaar, T Magazine, Wallpaper*, NYLON, ELLE Deco, Marie Claire, and WWD on the fashion side; K!ND, NOWRE, UTH, i-D CHINA, and KIKS among the culture titles; Jing’an, The Bund, Youku, Tencent, The Economic Observer, and Yicai in news; TIMEOUT, FOLLOW Shanghai, and Shanghai WOW in local life; Winshang, Linkshop, and Forbes among the retail trades. Fashion readers get tone. Culture readers get the room. News gets a city story. Local life gets a weekend plan. Retail readers get how a Nanjing West Road project spends its first year. The list is the plan’s invitation grid. Attendance and publication follow the confirmed project version.
Beyond the wide release, three Shanghai consumer titles are planned for 14–20 July, each with its own reason to forward. Lifestyle: a south-of-France pool appearing in the city center, carrying the pool-and-camping idea as a mood worth a weekend. Benefit: one day through the limited sunset market, turning installations into an itinerary. Check-in: a landmark anniversary and a Shanghai-school chill, turning the building into a place to shoot. One event, three jobs, three reasons to go.
The trade feature is left as a choice, both options dated 22 July, so the anniversary also exists in commercial-property language. iziretail would read strategy and footfall for a fashion-retail and shopping-center audience, and where the plaza goes next. Shangye Ka would read the first year of a premium-office-plus-retail shift, and the project’s new Shanghai-school tone, for readers who follow the city’s openings. The life story answers whether the weekend is worth it. The trade story answers what the first year says about the project. Landmark status needs both sentences.
05
One hundred Xiaohongshu visits
Ten head accounts set the party night; forty mid-tier and fifty long-tail accounts keep one route searchable
On 14 July, head, mid, and long-tail accounts put the first anniversary on Xiaohongshu and point followers at the west plaza. More visits follow while the market is open, repeating what is worth wandering and photographing so people outside the list come on their own. The lines collapse into three: all of Shanghai’s trend people are at this new landmark today; a new luxury circle meets urban modern; this is a life-inspiration destination that is fun to wander and easy to shoot. City identity, refined landmark, weekend guide. All three require the market, an installation, or the atrium in frame.
The grid is one hundred accounts, split by publish window. Ten head KOLs, roughly 300,000 followers and up, post on 14–15 July and set the party. Forty mid-tier accounts, roughly 50,000–300,000, and fifty long-tail accounts, roughly 10,000–50,000, post through 30 July, overlapping the market’s open days so search keeps receiving new notes after the party. The mechanic closes notes to the owned account: follow @锦沧文华广场, post a check-in, tag the official account, with three gifts drawn on 30 July. A Maison Margiela gift was a suggestion in the plan. Follows, location pins, and the draw turn scattered notes into an asset on the official account.
A visit SOP keeps one hundred notes recognizable as the same event. The window is 14–30 July, posted by 30 July. Each note covers the collaboration, photographs, and installations, tags JC PLAZA, and pins the mall. The route is fixed: L1 atrium, west plaza, street planters, corridor, escalators — the same dots as the site map. Copy offers three entries, chosen by account type, with place and program both required. Mall: a large anniversary move, a south-of-France pool and city camping in central Shanghai. Program: a July must-visit and a check-in guide to the JC × OTB market. Brand: go straight into the limited sunset-market tag. Hashtags cover trend gathering spots, must-visit malls, the sunset market, a style landmark, weekend plans, the mall itself, and Maison Margiela. The tag set puts the building, the market, and the collaborator on one search chain.
The ten head recommendations are organized by circle, in service of a young, high-tone life venue. The sheet runs from a super-head refined account (@Ananas吃一半, about 1.84 million) through returnees and founders (@臭美的芳芳), variety and brand (@尤金Eugene), lifestyle (@启豪Kaiho), culture media (@槑力啾), artists (@袁凯旋Hanry), a London-trained circle (@克里希__), high-aesthetic photography (@其寺Mar), refined and Y2K-adjacent style (@Fedlly), and a male beauty account (@王赛达). Follower counts run from about 300,000 into super-head. The filter is whether this person can write the mall as their own weekend, their own city walk, their own outfit. The plan shows existing posts so the desired tone — luxury, landmarks, city roaming, brand occasions — is visible. Names there are recommendations. The confirmed list follows the project version.

Local life and social ads
Dianping answers the weekend; Moments delivers the preview and the replay inside 3 km
Dianping changes copy by phase, on JC PLAZA’s official account. Warm-up, 7–13 July, posts fresh notes on the theme, opens a commercial topic, and promotes them in feed to the intended circles. Lines include a Shanghai weekend pick, a preview of the week’s program, and an invitation to feel a chill summer at the anniversary. Retention, 15–28 July, switches to what is happening on site: the most photographable sunset market, an immersive chill, a limited gift. People hear about the anniversary, then learn how to walk it and what they can collect when they arrive.
WeChat Moments runs two films, both inside Shanghai, against a base of ages 18–40 with browsing or search behavior around Shanghai-school culture, fashion, and a refined pace of life. A 15-second warm-up runs 7–13 July. A 20-second recap runs 14–21 July, so people who missed Big Day still see the market and the party. Both films open on empty mall frames and flashes of the project’s history, then lock the theme with anniversary type. The warm-up stays on the dressed scene. The recap adds visitors arriving, booth close-ups, and the room’s atmosphere.
Targeting stacks three layers so spend is concentrated on people who can actually walk over. The base is Shanghai, 18–40. The geographic layer drops LBS pins around the mall and the nearby metro, tightened on the plan to about 3 km of the JC PLAZA trade area, with an alternate mode at roughly 3–5 km plus interest tags. The expansion layer reuses first-party seed users — historical ad clicks, follows, and conversions — as a lookalike. The 15-second film previews. The 20-second film replays. LBS puts both films in front of people already in the Nanjing West Road ring.

Methodology
Two stayable poles, three phases, and one invitation inside three kilometres
- Step 1 · Name the subject and the two poles: the mall leads; SUNSET MARKET and DAYDREAM LOUNGE give 38 days a place to stay; a token walks market spend into the atrium games.
- Step 2 · Assign speakers by phase: 7–13 July builds expectation; 14 July files the story through the VIP party, forty outlets, and ten head accounts; 15–30 July keeps heat on the open market with ninety more creators, Dianping guides, and one trade feature.
- Step 3 · Let five readers and three notes exist together: fashion, culture, news, local life, and retail each keep their reader; Xiaohongshu enters through the mall, the program, or the market, on one five-stop route.
- Step 4 · Turn coverage into a nearby invitation: Dianping moves from weekend pick to photo guide; Moments runs a 15-second preview and a 20-second replay against trade-area LBS and first-party seeds.
Across the program, JFM MEDIA folded a summer activation into a reusable Dual-Pole Venue × Three-Phase Resonance Model. The market and the lounge gave the Shanghai-school summer an address. Warm-up, the party night, and two weeks of retention gave press, notes, and ads separate jobs. Forty outlets supplied city and trade credit. One hundred Xiaohongshu accounts turned one route into a weekend people could search. Dianping and Moments invited people within a few kilometres. The mall remained the lead. Brands appeared in the market, the installations, the gifts, and the party, and JC PLAZA’s first year became a way of spending a Shanghai summer.
From the Chillout the Time poles to the toast on the west plaza, then Dianping guides, Moments replays, and visit notes still publishing at the end of July, JFM MEDIA planned this PR system for JC PLAZA’s 2023 anniversary. A sunset market became a Shanghai venue people could search, navigate to, and still open at month’s end.
This page recaps the 2023 JC PLAZA anniversary PR plan. Media invitations, creator recommendations, gift mechanics, and the token rate are planning directions; attendance, partnerships, and benefits follow the confirmed project version. FAQ
Case FAQ
What did JFM MEDIA lead for the JC PLAZA anniversary?
JFM MEDIA planned the 2023 first-anniversary PR for JC PLAZA on a Dual-Pole Venue × Three-Phase Resonance Model. The poles are the outdoor JC × OTB SUNSET MARKET and the indoor DAYDREAM LOUNGE, joined by a token from market spend into the atrium. The phases are warm-up (7–13 July), Big Day (14 July), and retention (15–30 July). A 40-outlet press grid, a 100-account Xiaohongshu matrix, Dianping, and WeChat Moments inside the trade area turn the mall into a Shanghai venue still searchable at month’s end.
What do warm-up, Big Day, and retention each do?
Warm-up, 7–13 July, puts the anniversary into Shanghai feeds with Dianping and a 15-second Moments film. Big Day is the 14 July west-plaza VIP party: ten head accounts on site, forty outlets filing news, and three local-life features each with a different reason to go. Retention, 15–30 July, keeps ninety KOL and KOC visits on a fixed route, switches Dianping to a photo guide, runs a 20-second replay, and places one trade feature on 22 July.
How are the 100 Xiaohongshu accounts divided?
Ten head accounts, roughly 300,000 to 500,000 followers and up, post on 14–15 July and set the party night. Forty mid-tier and fifty long-tail accounts post through 30 July, overlapping the market’s open days. Notes tag JC PLAZA, pin the mall, and follow L1 atrium, west plaza, street planters, corridor, and escalators. Copy enters through the mall, the program, or the sunset market. Names in the plan are circle-based recommendations; the confirmed list follows the project version.
